Bargue Plates
The Charles Bargue and Jean-Léon Gérôme drawing course was first published by Goupil & Cie between 1866 and 1871. It consisted of 187 individual lithographs intended to be copied from plates by students at atelier art schools. Many famous artists copied from these plates as part of their art studies, including John Singer Sargent, Picasso and Van Gogh.
